Ignite Road Racing Challenge 300x300

2026 Ignite Road Racing Challenge

What is the Ignite Road Racing Challenge?

The Ignite Road Racing Challenge introduces the popular spec Ignite program to the national road racing scene. The series travels to three exciting road courses in the United States: Daytona International Speedway, World Wide Technology Raceway, and Ozarks International Raceway. The series will serve as a way to experience the speed associated with competing on a purpose-built road course, all while using the same Ignite package they race every weekend.

Additional Information

There are 6 scored finals, 2 from each of the 3 rounds. A racer’s top 4 finishes will be counted towards the championship points. You are able to drop your lowest 2 finishes, or an event you might have missed. Tech disqualifications can not be dropped. Weight disqualifications or scales infractions can be dropped. The top 3 drivers in each class earn season-end awards. Drivers must compete in at least 3 races to be eligible for season-end awards.

Optional Friday practice is offered at each round in accordance with the promoter’s weekend format. Friday practice fees are at the discretion of the promoter.

KG drop-down bumper brackets are NO LONGER REQUIRED for the Ignite Road Racing Challenge in 2026.

Race entry fees are at the discretion of each event’s promoter and are subject to vary from event to event.

Friday- Optional Practice
Saturday- Warmup(s) & Final
Sunday- Warmup(s) & Final

Per the promoter’s rules, the starting lineup is determined by the order in which racers register.

New tires are not required at any point during the weekend.

The Ignite Road Racing Challenge is subject to the discretion of the promoter regarding any rain or inclement weather. Hoosier WET tires are required and to be mounted on the spec rain tires sizes shown in the Ignite Rulebook.

If inclement weather prevents a race from taking place, rain points will be issued to all entrants in that race. Rain points are second-place points, which is dependent on kart count in each class.

Top 3 finishers in each class are awarded trophies by the event promoter.

Some road racing series allow drivers to enter multiple classes within the same run group. However, Ignite Road Racing Challenge drivers are not permitted to compete in multiple Ignite classes in the same run group.

If a race cannot be completed due to inclement weather, rain points will be awarded to all racers that are entered in that race. Rain points will be the equivalent of a second place finish for all entries. That would be 175 points plus the total number of entries in the respective class.
