Whiteland Raceway Park Adds Ignite Classes in 2020

St. Louis, MO – (January 28, 2020) – Margay Racing and Whiteland Raceway Park are proud to announce the addition of the fastest growing karting class in the Midwest – The Margay Ignite spec program – to the 2020 WRP Championship Season. The Ignite Junior (ages 12-15) and Ignite Senior (ages 15+) will take the green flag this spring at the revamped Whiteland Raceway Park circuit, bringing spec kart racing to a part of the country renowned for its historical motorsports prowess.

Locally known as one of the largest classes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s USAC Karting Battle at the Brickyard, the Ignite program creates a fast, fun and fair racing class option for racers in the Indianapolis area. Ignite racing serves as both a bridge to help close the gap for local rental kart racers that want to get a little more behind the wheel and the experienced kart racer looking for a simpler racing solution.

All competitors are equipped with identically prepared Ignite K3 chassis and sealed lower end Briggs 206 engine packages. The spec chassis and engine meet the new WRP pavement with the help of a hard compound R80 tire manufactured by Indiana’s Hoosier Racing Tire. The formula has proven to highlight driver ability rather than  whoever spends the most money on their equipment.

Display karts are onsite at Whiteland Raceway Park’s showroom with karts and parts available to order immediately. To purchase your Margay kart for the upcoming race season, reach out WRP’s track manager, Rockie Piccione by visiting Whiteland Raceway Park, emailing customers@racewrp.com or calling 317-800-1648.
