The heavily anticipated 2021 Ignite Challenge schedule has arrived with a fresh new take on regional spec Ignite racing. Our mission to provide racers a fast, fun, fair series is realized with the addition of a brand new facility and an epic 2-day championship closing event at the newly repaved TNT Kartways. Despite the difficult year that was 2020, the five class series saw tremendous growth at each event and closed the year eclipsing the 100 entry mark at the Gateway Kartplex.
We are committed to creating the best racer experience possible in 2021. We are doubling down and bringing the officiating crew “in house” to ensure increased attention to on track racing etiquette and solidify consistent race procedures. The Challenge remains a double feature race format for all events except the newly added Ignite Nationals at the closing event atTNT Kartway. The Ignite Nationals will be a 2-day event with the complete format announced later this season.

Traditionally the closing event, the Gateway Kartplex will kick off the 2021 season inside the Worldwide Technology Raceway. The May 23 season opener will feature the highly desired extended track layout. The 2020 Ignite Challenge Champions will not go away empty handed as the Gateway Kartplex has offered to host an outdoor awards ceremony celebrating all of the driver’s accomplishments after the club race on Saturday evening.
Next up is the newest edition to the Ignite Challenge Series, the Motorsports Country Club of Cincinnati on Saturday, June 26. MCC offers a newly renovated facility with an extremely fast and technical layout that will not want to be missed. The track is now owned by Trinity Karting Group’s team principal, Shaun Bayliff, a highly accomplished karting and sports car driver. Shaun is known for his attention to detail and their team promises a great experience for the Ignite competitors.
Voted the fan favorite year after year, Kart Circuit Autobahn returns on Saturday, July 24. This country club circuit located in Joliet, Illinois offers an experience for any car-girl or car-guy alike. The towering “Garage-Mahal” complexes overlook the manicured circuit, with McLarens and Porches wisping by as you work on your own equipment. Make sure to take a step back and smell the high octane when you’re there, it’s truly a motorsport’s fan’s dream.
The Ignite Challenge Series continues it’s tour of the “Land of Lincoln”, by visiting the state’s capital of Springfield, Illinois. Mid-State Kart Club will host the penultimate round of the 2021 Ignite Challenge series on Saturday, August 28.
Completing a great season of racing is the first ever Ignite Nationals at the newly paved TNT Kartways in West Quincy, Missouri. The Ignite Nationals will be a two-day event spanning from Saturday, October 23 – Sunday, October 24. The Traeder family has put a lot of effort into the facility with the town’s revival of karting. With a race format to be announced, this will be an event not to miss, crowning the first-ever Ignite National champions and Ignite Challenge champions on the same day.
